ZED SECURITY AND GUARDING
Staff newsletter - March 2020
Welcome to ZED's third staff newsletter of 2020.
It has been a busy time for all and we need to keep the communication up.
It is has been a testing time for the country as a whole.
As key workers we have stepped up and carried on with our duties providing an essential service for the hospital and Colchester community.
So well done and keep up the amazing work.
Jon and his hero were reunited. Tinchy and Jon held hands again at the Girton Spring Ball. This time however Tinchy did NOT go to the toilets with Jon so the rumours are unfounded (Supposedly).
The other news involving our intrepid Director is that he and his lovely wife Jodie have had a beautiful baby girl born on the 26th of March Ottilie Mae Jade I am sure everyone sends there best wishes with such wonderful news during these most strange of times.
We are still planning events for as and when we get the go ahead from the relevant bodies so keep an eye out as when it starts it’s going to be a busy time for all the Zed team. So Fingers crossed for a full program in the summer and rest of the year.

Wishing them all the best in their future endeavours.
Thank you to all that have continued to work with and for ZED over this time.
You’re a credit to yourselves and the company.
Keep up the great work.
SIGNING IN SHEETS
Just a reminder to everyone to please make sure they sign in and out of every shift. This is really important from both a Health & Safety and emergency protocol perspective, plus also to confirm when you are at work. If for any reason your venue does NOT have a signing in book, contact us and we'll get this resolved as a matter of urgency.
Please could everyone download the citizenAID app, via App Store or Google Play.
This app contains information on both vehicle and acid attacks, alongside shooting, stabbing and bombing incidents. There is also guidance for what to do on encountering an unattended item in a public place. This guidance also supports the response of staff who work in these areas where unattended items are a common occurrence, and is great source of information for anyone working within the security industry.

"To celebrate our second anniversary, ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) Awareness e-Learning is launching a new and updated version of the course to keep you and your staff at the forefront of helping protect the UK from terrorism.
Version 2 has been developed in partnership with counter-terrorism officers to ensure the training covers the latest changes to the threat picture and developments in protective security advice.
Included in the updated version is additional content covering a programme called SCaN (See, Check and Notify), as well as new and relevant activities and exercises to help train staff. The new version also includes the recently launched ACT app which can be downloaded for smartphones.
Since ACT was launched, we have had over 7500 companies sign up to the e-learning, which adds up to an incredible 2.5 million modules completed.
Your commitment to encouraging your staff to be ‘CT citizens’ and play their part in tackling terrorism has helped this online training win a number of awards and gain widespread media coverage.
So, a big thank you from all the team.
And we have even more good news! Your access details haven’t changed. These are still specific to your business and therefore, you and your staff can all use the same log in. Please just remember to log in as a company and not an individual so you receive the full learning experience of the course with its great new features."
We ask all of our staff to complete this training. If any staff, clients or members of the community would like a free course please email firstname.lastname@example.org for the log in details.
The course can be found at...
